Iqro Ummah — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026 · Terms & Conditions →

Iqro Ummah (“the app”) is a Qur’an learning app — Iqro volumes 1–6, the full Qur’an with Indonesian translation, tajwid rules with audio examples, prayer times, and a qiblah compass — published by G Labs. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version: Iqro Ummah runs on your device. There is no account to create, no analytics, and no server of ours holding your data. The only thing the app ever sends over the internet is the city name you type when searching for a prayer-time location.

1. Who we are

Iqro Ummah is published by G Labs. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us on WhatsApp at +62 851-2802-5065.

2. What Iqro Ummah stores on your device

Everything you do in the app is stored in the app’s own private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read:

We cannot see any of this. It is on your device, not on a server.

3. Permissions the app asks for, and why

Permission Why Iqro Ummah needs it
Location (while in use) To calculate prayer times and the qiblah direction for where you are. The calculation happens entirely on your device; your coordinates are never sent to us or anyone else. You can refuse this and pick a city by name instead.
Notifications To show the prayer-time reminders you switch on yourself. Reminders are scheduled locally on the device; nothing is sent from outside.
Motion sensors The qiblah compass reads your device’s compass (magnetometer) to point toward the Ka’bah. Sensor readings are used on-screen in the moment and never stored or transmitted.

You can refuse any of these. Refusing location means prayer times use a city you pick manually; refusing notifications means no reminders. The rest of the app keeps working.

4. When information leaves your device

Iqro Ummah makes no other network requests. The Iqro pages, the full Qur’an text and translation, tajwid material, and all audio examples are bundled inside the app and work completely offline. There is no background sync, no telemetry, and no automatic upload.

5. What we do not do

6. Children

Iqro Ummah is a family learning app and is suitable for children learning to read the Qur’an. It shows no ads and collects no personal data from anyone — adult or child. A parent can hand the app to a child knowing nothing about them is gathered or shared.

7. Your control over your data

Because Iqro Ummah has no accounts and holds nothing on a server, there is no account for us to delete and no data of yours for us to hand over or erase on request.

8. Security

Your notes and settings live in app-private storage that other apps cannot read. The app requests no permissions beyond those listed above.

9. Content sources

The Qur’anic text (Mushaf Utsmani), the Indonesian translation by Kemenag RI, and the transliteration are bundled from the open quran-json dataset (CC BY-SA 4.0). These are static content files — displaying them involves no network request and no data about you.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
